Qingdao School for the Blind was built in 1932 and serves a student population of approximately 200, including Elementary, Junior, and Senior School Departments, as well as Vocational and Special Training Programs.  The students are between 6 and 25 years of age.

 


Special Training Program
 

The Special Training Program for students with additional disabilities opened in 2000.  There are currently 13 students in the program and they are divided into two groups, according to age.

Independent Living Skills

Independent living skills include washing clothes, cooking, using the telephone, shopping, and eating.

Pre-Vocational Training

Students learn to sell newspapers and magazines, as well as to practice their skills with massage.
Students distribute magazines in the school.
